Jerry Denato

Since moving to the Valley in 1983 from Baltimore, MD, Jerry has been a mainstay on the Phoenix music scene. He has performed and recorded with many valley favorites such as Dennis Rowland, Nicole Pesce, Armond Boatman, Alice Tatum, and J. David Sloan. Jerry also enjoyed an extensive career in television, having performed on the Arsenio Hall Show. He has also done soundtracks for CBS Television’s Evening Shade and for several TNT movies. His most recent CD, It’s A Cool Heat, features the last recording of West Coast legend Pee Jolly.

Felipe Carrillo

Felipe Carrillo is a local session and touring bassist in Phoenix, Arizona. The love for music began at a very young age for Felipe. He started playing saxophone in his early elementary years and later on discovered the bass guitar. He quickly grew a serious passion for music and decided to build a career around his instrument. He attended Berklee college of music in Boston, Massachusetts, where he studied to play upright and synth bass.

Whenever Felipe plays music, he strives to play with the best in the business, making a name for himself by always being prepared and ready to execute the gig. (Buddy Martel band, Donny Grubs band, The Chacons Band, Harry Luge band. etc.) Honing and perfecting his craft has landed him to play with some major Pop, Latin, Jazz, and Country artists around the U.S. including Broadway Music in New York. He is Currently touring with CMT artist Ashley Wimeland.

Jonathan Withem

Jonathan Withem started drumming at the age of five. His professional drumming career began as a teenager performing with orchestras, jazz groups, and rock bands throughout California. In 2012, he received his BA in Music from California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo. His expertise in and passion for drumming is the result of many dedicated drummers and percussionists including Jason Lingle and Ross Sears, a product of Percussive Arts Society hall of famers William Kraft, George Gaber, and Anthony Cirone.

Performing throughout the United States, Central America, South Korea, Puerto Rico, and India, Jonathan is pursued as a featured soloist, band member and clinician. He has appeared with Taylor Eigsti, Don Byron, Red Holloway, Charlie Shoemake, Bill Watrous, DJ Logic, Lincoln Brewster, American Idol’s Chris Sligh, Chris McClarney, Jason Ingram, Justin Unger, Likewise Worship Collective, Pacific Conservatory Theatre (PCPA), Arizona Broadway Theatre, and as a guest instructor on Mike Johnston’s mikeslessons.com.

Jonathan’s discography (30+ records) continues to grow as a session drummer and percussionist. Jonathan has over 18 years teaching experience. He taught at The Drum Lab in Rocklin, CA, and Music Lab in Sacramento, CA. He was the Music Lab’s Director of Operations & Education overseeing 3 music schools, 15 instructors, and over 300 students. He also directed a drumline and percussion ensemble at Jesuit High School in Carmichael, CA, and was an Applied Faculty Member at William Jessup University in Rocklin, CA, where he taught orchestral / auxiliary percussion and drum set studies.

Jonathan is currently working as a session drummer and performing with Josh Roy, The Chacons, and CCV Music. He is also teaching drum set and percussion at Copper Hills Center for the Arts and is an Adjunct Faculty Member at Grand Canyon University.
