Singer. Songwriter. Recording Artist.
Hi, I’m Darryl Scotti—a guitarist, songwriter, and the founder of Big Yard Nation whose musical journey began as a young child listening to the likes of Chuck Berry and Elvis on my transistor radio and has taken me across decades of deep passion for the craft.
Like many, I was inspired as a kid by The Beatles’ legendary appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show. That moment set my course. I went on to form bands, tour the Northeast, and eventually at the age of eighteen I joined Columbia Records artists Spiral Starecase, performing their #1 hit More Today Than Yesterday on stages with icons like Ray Charles and Nancy Sinatra.
After stepping back from the road in my mid twenties, I founded Darryl Scotti Events and Entertainment in Northern California, collaborating with artists like Pete Escovedo, Sheila E and Narada Michael Walden finding success in producing corporate entertainment.
In 2002, I got back to performing with my band Big Yard, earning NACAS Song of the Year for Take Out the Trash. My 2005 solo album, ‘The Will & The Way’, featured Christian music greats Randy Stonehill and Phil Keaggy.
Today, retired from producing corporate entertainment I’m based in Scottsdale, Arizona, where I continue to write, record, and produce my music. Through BigYard Nation, I work with emerging artists and fellow songwriters, always striving to create something meaningful.
My 2024 my EP, ‘54th St.’, produced by Alex Chacon and mixed by Aaron Howard, features collaborations with guitarist Bill Dutcher and Arizona blues legend Chuck Hall. The EP’s diverse mix of sultry R&B, rock, and country crossover attracted attention from influential music blogs and playlists, generating a loyal following with over 1.8 million international streams and video views. The lead single ‘Proof ‘ debuted on the Global Radio Charts in the Top 150 and remained on the Indie 150 chart’s Top 50 for 28 weeks.
In early 2025, we released a reimagined version of the 1980s Sting classic Every Breath You Take. The response was incredible—global playlist support poured in, and a new multigenerational fan base emerged, driven by both the cinematic official video and a modern lyric video. We took a big risk, made some bold moves—and it seems to be working out.
Looking ahead, Big Yard is releasing six new original songs throughout 2025 as part of a new EP titled ‘Poets and Heroes’. I’m co-writing and producing with Larry Antonino on bass and multi-instrumentalist Aaron Howard. We’re excited to welcome special guests including Cory Lerios (piano) and Sergio Gonzales (drums) of Pablo Cruise, along with L.A. session guitarist and Grammy-nominated composer Grant Geissman.
With so much behind me and even more ahead, I still believe in the power of music to move, inspire, and heal. And I truly believe—God’s not done with me yet.
